Serves as in-house counsel, providing legal counsel to City officials, officers and employees, in all matters pertaining to the business of the City. The City Attorney duties require the exercise of extensive independent judgment as the ultimate legal authority for the City. Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the State of Texas is required. Must be a member of the State Bar of Texas and ability to maintain it as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver License. Five (5) years of related experience, any equivalent combination of education and experience, equivalency to be determined by the employer. Experience with Texas municipalities, specifically coastal municipalities is preferred.
